it's like everyone's got allergies now - red eyes, ichy noses, a sense of exhaustion. But I am not a good judge right now. Seeing the world as i do from inside those red eyes.

After extended games of ball with almost a dozen kids and three balls we sat around the pool this afternoon looking at the crows and I suddenly realized they are bigger and more aggressive that ever. Every year they dare more and more. They were checking out knapsacks and beach bags left by the swimmers, then flying to the umbrella above us and eyeing our french fries. they are definitely going to take over the country.

Shopping malls open half an hour after Shabbat, and because people have been resting all day they're champing at the bit to get to those summer sales. tonight we were in Yes Planet in Ramat Gan and there were hoards. and what prices. fortunately we needed nothing and breezed through.

The better part of today was spent in waiting for a doctor. it was like in the old days of health clinics here - not enough doctors so long lines. but those were days before electronics and internet appointments. i've gotten used to walking right in when my time comes. So two hours seems like too much. I would never have waited but this urologist knows his stuff, so to speak, and he gives such exact instructions even I am impressed. I only wish I had a hematologist as frank and open and sure of treatment. so I wasted a few hours. so what.

But life is much more like the world cup than the urologist. everything turns upside down without a moment's notice. we don't even mention the forty fires daily that we are fighting in the south, because we are getting used to them and because we have bigger problems on the Syrian border. And all the while the wife of the Prime Minister spends her days in court deflecting accusations about a hundred thousand dollars of public funds spent on extra dinners. Tell me this isn't upside down.
