Tel Aviv Diary - from June 12 , 2005 - Karen Alkalay-Gut

Bye for now - I'll be back on the 25 if i can't get on line.

if i can, i'll be reporting from paris

June 13,2005

We used to laugh that the difference between Jews and Christians is that Christians go without saying goodbye and Jews say goodbye without going. So we have an hour left over after taking Shusha to Hagit and Oren's car back home, and food and stuff like that, and as we were driving home we stopped at Yools. Tomorrow we'll be sitting on the Seine but today we're sitting on the Yarkon. Ezi revels in nostalgia about how he used to ride his bike on the other side of the river because there was no place then to walk, and now there are beautiful grounds and bike paths all the way down. He is always comparing the barren city in which he grew up with the relatively luxurious public areas now.

What do we need Paris for - here I can identify the cool people we're watching. But we've got work to do, and a flight to catch. So this time, goodbye for real.
