Hair. Don't miss it. Even if you have seen it and seen it, this is different. spectacular dancing - like i have never seen before. great staging, singing. wow. The idea of the individual in an society that values anonymity and obedience made the nudity and profanity perfectly essential. The contemporary importance of this was not overlooked. Wish I had gotten up on the stage with the rest of the besotted audience to sing "let the sun shine."

i forgot to write about this evening. Wait. I'll get some photographs and get back to you.

too big, huh? Since no one in this family took any pictures (Ron filmed it but the film ended when I got on the stage and I haven't gotten access to it yet.) I took some of Yafit's pictures and didn't shrink them properly.

Yafit keeps telling me to find a professional to straighten up my website, but I don't know how.

There are numerous restaurants in Tel Aviv - something like 1500. And most of them are full on a saturday noon. But Saint George in Jaffa was almost empty when we came at 2. We were 18 people and there was no problem. The food was great, the decor impressive, and the service perfect, and only after did I figure out that it is a Christian restaurant so Ramadan was not a problem. So why wasn't it full?

A few words about the Customs House in Jaffa - it used to be the only way visitors could land in the Holy Land. It was rebuilt - apparently by Ezi's grandfather - in 1931. And now the municipality wants to tear it down because it isn't very good looking. But its got so much history I can not believe it shouldn't be a museum of Jaffa.

Why did I say nothing about Independence Day, my friend asked me. The fourth of July, she said, you always note it. can I say this is not a good time for me to celebrate America? No. I will always find this an important holiday. but this year i didn't get invited to any parties. no fireworks. no hotdogs. nada. The lack of partners for a celebration makes a celebration irrelevant. I DID get a card. it said Happy Holiday and have an easy fast.

Actually the fourth of July seems to have been celebrated in Raqqa today, with the bombing of mined bridges. That must have been a great fireworks show. I can't find out if Ezi's grandfather's bridge still stands.
