I'll bet you didn't know it. That if you need an abortion in Israel you have to go through a committee. If you're single, it is approved. If you are married you can only be approved if the father is not your husband, or if you're in a bad mental state, or you were taking drugs that might effect the fetus. I forgot this law, even though it should be such a basic right in any free country, and according to Jewish law 'life' begins at birth, but there was a program just now on channel 10 and the horror of it returned to me. To give birth to a child you don't want must be a terrible thing - for the child. I know a few kids like that.
For a woman not to be in control of her own body denies the validity of democracy.

But as a woman who could repeat pressing the #Me Too button over and over, i also believe women should learn to say no, and put their fists behind that word.
"I never remember what I did today," a friend of mine said to me. "It's an American thing," another friend from NY reacted. "You get into a habit of doing the same thing every morning..." The only way you can do the same thing every morning is to ignore the news. "no" she said "you can watch the news anywhere in the world every day." "But here it is a matter of life or death. if i don't know what's going on i don't know if i can go out."
One of the results of the new feminist movement is that many more of the terrorists this year are female. Today, for example, two Bedouin women were arrested today with advanced plans for mass murder here.

Here's an idea. Since it was announced today that anyone who attacks an Israeli and is imprisoned for any length of time - receives a monthly wage. i know a few people i wouldn't mind attacking - especially one or two sexual abusers. could i get a salary after i get out? it would be a win-win situation, no?

i took a cab this evening because my friend and colleague lives in tel aviv and there is no parking at all. My driver came from a village near Nazareth and we had a wonderful conversation about mutual friends. But when I went to rate the car service my finger slipped on the phone and i rated it as poor. this bothered me all evening so i decided to take a cab home from the same service and ask the driver how to change my rating of the first driver. he gave me some advice and then i asked him why he has all these model cars on his dashboard. he said he was a collector and i told him i had a few at home left over from grandchildren. if i gave him good cars, he said, he would not charge me for the ride. so i got him some of the cars and rated him five stars, and then Ezi helped me to fix the previous rating.
Where did i go and what did i do? well, there are 3 actresses and their old teacher - my friend - who have been working at a play about my poems on clothes. tonight i think we upgraded the whole production tonight and it really is going to work out beautifully. But there's a lot more to do. My argument is that we try to suit ourselves to the clothing industry as we try to suit ourselves to public concepts of identity and we can't even find out who we are. This is personal, social, and political.

we're about to go to a concert - it will be a 'pleasant' concert, beethoven and dvorak, but my mind is on wilder things. this is the second part of Ronen Shapira's "one" with my poem, "White Skin"
